VoIP, which is short for Voice over Internet Protocol, is also known as IP telephony. This service allows an individual to use their internet connection in order to make telephone calls.
This is done so that they would no longer have to rely on analog lines as those types of telephones would normally use, more so the traditional.
A high speed broadband connection such as, DSl or even cable is what VoIP requires as it uses digital technology. Different providers of VoIP services will offer different types of services.
